Er kam im Januar 2006 zu AKB48 und übernahm am 24. August 2012 das Amt des neuen Kapitäns von Team A. Bei den fünften Parlamentswahlen am 8. Juni 2013 wurde bekannt gegeben, dass er seinen Abschluss bei AKB48 machen würde.
